I have been working in the fields of international education, English language teaching, and teacher training for more than 25 years, and have actively pursued my interests in education, linguistics, and language acquisition/learning. Working at Pasadena City College from 1991 to 2018, I served as a professor of English as a Second Language and Linguistics, as well as the Coordinator of the ESL Program, the Director of the International Student Pathway and the Associate Dean for International Education. I greatly enjoy working in the field of International Education, and I look forward to developing educational partnerships in China and other parts of the world. Besides my professional interests, I enjoy exploring food, listening to music (especially jazz, folk, and classical), writing poetry, cooking, and connecting with nature. I am an eclectic reader (or listener) with favorite reads ranging from Parker Palmer, to Neil Gaiman, to Haruki Marukami, to Malcolm Gladwell. For me, life is about growth and change to be navigated with reflection and gratitude.
